Nintendo have another winner

The minds behind Nintendo's marketing strategy sure know what it takes to be a winner in this industry.

The Nintendo DS is breaking records left right and centre, and the Nintendo Wii can't keep up with consumer demand! So, if you were Nintendo, what would you do in this moment of complete dominance? Well, how about introduce a product that will appeal to thousands and could potentially bring a whole new audience to gaming.

In steps Wii Fit. Launched in Japan on December 1st, the Wii Fit package for the highly sought after Wii console consists of a Wii Balance Board upon which gamers must perform various exercises based upon core stability. Featuring techniques such as yoga, step aerobics, press ups and other exercises, Wii Fit even allows players to compete against one another locally.

Where as Microsoft are adding a parental timer to its Xbox 360 console tomorrow for parents to limit how long their children can spend playing, parents with Nintendo Wii consoles will be encouraging their children to spend longer on Wii Fit.

Wii Fit

Despite the Japanese being known for their healthy lifestyles, they're the first to receive Wii Fit. Those who need it most, namely the US and to a lesser extent Europe, are expected to be able to get their hands on Wii Fit in Q1 2008. Let us hope that we can get our hands on a Wii by then too!

linky no worky! : o
linky now fixy! :)
I'm far too lazy to be interested in getting fit.
I'm interested to try it just to see how well the exercises actually work and how robust the balance board actually is. If it does achieve what it says on the tin, I think it'll be great!
